| Palms 101: Not Another Queen Palm workshop

This workshop is tailored for the homeowner on a quest for more knowledge on
palms. Kitty Philips, Past President of the Palm Beach Palm and Cycad Society,
will present how to use different palms in the landscape for sun, shade, wet,
and dry locations. Different species available here in South Florida will be
discussed. Landscape placement as well as tips on the growing culture for a
palm will be covered, including mature size, watering, light requirements,
fertilizing, and planting. Live examples will be available and a guided walk
through Mounts will give you a chance to view palms in the landscape. Palms
will be available for purchase at the end of the workshop. Participants will
have a chance to win raffle prizes.

Enjoy the beauty of our Garden in the early evening hours. Narrated tour given
by Garden Director, Allen Sistrunk will include the history and future vision
of the garden, stories of folklore and ethnobotanical uses of South Florida
plants. Take advantages of this wonderful opportunity to experience evening
fragrances of exotic flowers and our resident nocturnal creatures.
