Mounts Environmental Film Series is a great opportunity for the community to come together to view environmental films and documentaries to raise awareness of our relationship with the natural environment, and to use film as a platform for conversation, education and positive change. Each viewing will be followed by a dynamic discussion with scientists and environmental advocates, enabling attendees to share thoughts, consider various viewpoints and hear the experts’ perspectives.
You’ve seen the sculptures, interacted with them, and learned about the plastic pollution in our waterways and the ocean. Now go behind the scenes with artist, founder and director of Washed Ashore Angela Hazeltine Pozzi and her brilliant staff and learn about the inspiration and the process of how Flash, Sebastian James, Lidia and all of the whimsical sea creatures of Washed Ashore are imagined and come to life and why the Washed Ashore Project is so important in educating and saving the world’s oceans.
Note: The gates open at 5:30 pm. The film starts at 6:30, followed by a post-screening Q&A with beach gardener Diane Buhler of Friends of Palm Beach.
