January 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Nature Journaling is the act of recording your experiences on this planet: your observations, perceptions, questions, facts, and phenomena. It is citizen science, it is art, it is creative, therapeutic, and fun.
Nature Journaling is an awesome way of connecting with all the organisms sharing our crazy journey around the sun. Autumn Kioti will be our guide as we take a figurative and literal hike through the process of creating and maintaining a nature journaling practice.
Warning: Nature journaling is addictive! Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own journal and media if you wish.
Sunday, January 16th, 1:00 to 2:30 pm
- Class fee $14 for MBG members; $20 for nonmembers
- Registration is required; class size is limited to 20 adults.
About Autumn Kioti
Autumn is an artist, naturalist, and storyteller. Using inspirations from nature, animal documentaries, and scientific studies, processes used include botanical and traditional printmaking, collagraph, cyanotype, pen and ink, non-traditional watercolor techniques, found object art, journaling, narrative and poetry, creating two and three-dimensional art, as well as programming and performances. Past artist residencies and collaborations include the NYC Audubon, Audubon Everglades, the Santa Fe Art Institute, Art Monastery Italia, NOoSphere Arts, Rohi’s Readery, ecoAmerica, Resource Depot, Wild Bird Fund, American Littoral Society, and more. It is Autumn’s wildest hope that the narratives created bring viewers and participants closer to an understanding that humans are of nature and not separate from it – creating a little magic and silliness along the way too.
