Event Series Event Series: Watercolor at the Garden

Watercolor at the Garden

September 27, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join artist Carl Stoveland and share the love of art and nature with fellow art enthusiasts. Begin each class with a nature walk through the Garden to inspire you and give you an opportunity to capture photos with your phone or tablet along the way.

The group will then move indoors, where Carl will start with a quick demo topic then assist you in choosing a subject and getting started on your watercolor.

This class is for adults only, and some painting/sketching experience is preferred. Bring your pencils, pens, paints, sketchpad or watercolor pad, (or journal) and your favorite photographic device (i.e., cell phone camera or tablet).

Beginners should consider our Thursday Beginning Watercolor class.

September 6, 13, 20, 27
Tuesdays, 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
$10 for members; $15 for future members (includes full Garden admission)
Registration is required; class size is limited to 15 adults.
For questions or assistance, please call April, 561-233-1775 or email akrebs@pbcgov.org.

About Carl Stoveland

Carl Stoveland is an artist and photographer living and working in Lake Worth Beach. Carl is a founding Member of the Lake Worth Beach Urban Sketchers group and was 2020 Artist in residence at Dry Tortugas National Park where he and another artist lived off the grid entirely creating art and photography for the entire month of September. One of Carl’s previous projects was the photo documentary exhibits IAMLAKEWORTH and IAMLAKEWORTHTOO that were displayed at the Hatch in 2018 and 2019. Carl was managing partner at Gallery Meraki in Garnerville, NY from 2014 to 2016 where he exhibited his own work as well as taught workshops in Photography and Photoshop.  His current passions are watercolor and acrylic painting and Urban Sketching.

Carl grew up in NY near the Catskill Mountains and found his passion for photography and painting hiking along the many trails and streams near his home.  His Dad spent his entire career working in photo labs and his mom is an oil painter and watercolorist.  So the apple did not fall far from the tree!
