Orchid Trilogy

Our Popular Orchid Trilogy is Back!

Designed for orchid enthusiasts, from beginners to more experienced, this 3-part series will give you best practices for growing healthy, beautiful orchids! Presented by Sandi Jones of Broward Orchid Supply.

July 3 – Orchid Basics
Saturday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Newcomers to orchids will learn how to choose the correct plants for their growing area and what orchids need to grow and flower. Sign up and start your orchid journey here!

July 10 – Orchid Repotting and Orchid Mounting Techniques
Saturday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Learn how to repot your orchid, how often orchids should be repotted, the different potting media to use, and the proper pot or basket to use. Also learn how orchids can be mounted on items such as cork, a tree fern or a branch.

July 17 – Training your Eye – Orchid Pests
Saturday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Learn about pests and diseases that can affect your orchids. Bacteria, fungus and insects can all damage your orchids; learn how to spot them early and what to do if you find them. Students will learn how to identify the culprits, what products to use to get rid of them, and how to avoid them in the future. Orchids and Orchid leaves can be brought in for diagnosis, but must be placed inside a sealed plastic bag to prevent contamination of other plants.

If You Need Orchid Supplies

Orchid supplies will be available for sale during each class. If you need supplies but are not attending the classes, you can still purchase from the Broward Orchid Supply trailer on July 3, 10 and 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please call ahead for pre-orders, 954-925-2021. The trailer will be located in the front parking lot outside the Mounts Auditorium.
