The Magic of Bugs and their Chinese Symbols
Our Earth Day celebration wraps up with a fun art class for ages 8 to 12. Design a Chinese fold-out book of insects!
Draw the caterpillar, bee, butterfly, firefly and ladybug and finish with watercolors. Learn the Chinese symbols for each and discover their meaning. Collage the cover of the insect book and add a mirror to reflect the beauty of the artist…YOU!
Class will be led by artist, Jean Howard and will be held outside, under cover.
Thursday, April 22nd
3:00 to 5:00 pm; this is an after-hours class; meet at the front entrance.
Registration is required; class size is limited; registration closes on Wednesday, April 21st at noon.
$20 for MBG members; $25 for nonmembers
About Jean Howard:
Jean Howard is a former photo editor and photographer for The Palm Beach Post. She worked with the Center for Creative Education for over a decade, taught art at Sacred Heart School for several years, and returned to the CCE ln 2018. Jean works primarily in watercolor with drawings on recycled seed paper. She earned an M.A. in Photojournalism from Ohio University’s Viscom program and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri.
