He and Doris Dukes live near Brandon, and they are most proud of the awards for culture they have received over the years including 105 AOS Awards for Culture in 30 genera, First Class Certificates for Bulbophyllums, Cattleyas, Paphiopedilums and Prosthecheas, and over 400 total awards in all categories. Additionally, the American Orchid Society has added a new Annual Award for the best Bulbophyllum exhibited, the Bill Thoms Award.  His funny and informative book, Bulbophyllums; the Incomplete Guide, From A to WHY?, may be purchased from him.  He also has an ongoing video book that lasts for 2 years and has photos, articles, essays and answers to your personal orchid problems.
