2021 is the Year of the Sunflower and we’re celebrating this summer with a Sunflower Field. Be sure not to miss it when you visit!
Located at the west end of the Event Parking lot, our Sunflower Field was designed by our horticulture team with staggered plantings for longer blooming time. The field was seeded and planted with starters in late May, and flowers started to appear by July 1st.
The Field will remain in place through August 29th. Peak blooming is expected to last through at least August 20th. The Field will be deconstructed beginning Monday, August 30th (when the Garden is closed).
JUST ADDED! Sunflower Talk and Harvest – August 24th
Join our Horticulture Supervisor, Matt Boyson and Display Gardens Horticulturist, Joel Crippen for this special garden presentation that puts the spotlight on a sensational summertime favorite, the Sunflower (Helianthus annuus). You’ll hear the inspiration behind our team’s curated Sunflower Field, which punctuated our summer programming.
