Beginner Watercolor with Carl Stoveland

March 3, 10, 17, 31

12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Have you always wanted to try watercolor but been overwhelmed by it? Then this is the class for you! This class is geared towards the novice watercolor enthusiast. We will start with the basics, focusing on a new technique and a simple painting each week. Join artist Carl Stoveland and share your love of art and nature with fellow art enthusiasts, this class is for adults only. Bring your pencils, pens, paints sketchpad or watercolor pad, (or journal), and your favorite photographic device (i.e., cell phone camera or tablet).  Each week or two we start a new painting project. Time will be split between demos by Carl and supervised painting time working on your projects. New painting projects will be chosen by Carl, with assistance from the class.

Passionate about watercolor, acrylic painting and urban sketching, Carl Stoveland is an artist and photographer living in Lake Worth Beach, and he is a founding Member of the Lake Worth Beach Urban Sketchers group. His seasoned experience includes serving as an artist in residence at Dry Tortugas National Park, producing photo documentary exhibits, and serving as managing partner at Gallery Meraki in Garnerville, New York, where he exhibited his work and taught photography. Carl found his passion for photography and painting while growing up hiking along trails and streams in the Catskill Mountains. His dad worked in photo labs and his mom is an oil painter and watercolorist, so the apple didn’t fall far from the tree!
